Abstract

Fintech (financial technology) has emerged as a significant innovation in the global financial industry, and its impact on Islamic finance is becoming increasingly important. This paper employs a bibliometric approach to analyze the current trends and developments in the literature on fintech within the Islamic finance sector. By utilizing data from various academic journals, this study presents a topic mapping, co-citation analysis, and identifies prominent publications and authors in the field. The results indicate that fintech has great potential to enhance financial inclusion within the framework of Shariah principles, such as asset-backed financing, while challenging traditional financial systems. However, regulatory and security challenges remain key barriers. This paper provides new insights into the relationship between fintech and Islamic finance and suggests directions for future research to leverage the potential of this innovation..
