Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
Journal of Islamic Business Management (JISBIM) applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of every manuscript submitted for publication. In the double-blind review process, the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.
All submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial team to determine their conformity with the journal's focus and scope, author guidelines, academic standards, and basic requirements for publication. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the initial screening stage.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise. Each manuscript is normally reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several aspects, including originality and novelty, relevance to the journal's scope, theoretical foundation, methodological rigor, quality of data and analysis, clarity of presentation, discussion of findings, contribution to the field, and the accuracy and relevance of references.
Reviewers provide recommendations to the editor, which may include:
- Accept Submission – the manuscript is considered suitable for publication without major changes.
- Revisions Required – the manuscript requires minor revisions before publication.
- Resubmit for Review – substantial revisions are required and the revised manuscript may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation.
- Resubmit Elsewhere/Reject – the manuscript does not sufficiently meet the journal's scope or academic requirements.
The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief or authorized editor based on the reviewers' recommendations and the overall quality of the manuscript. The editorial team may request additional reviews when reviewers provide substantially different recommendations or when further expert assessment is considered necessary.
Authors are expected to respond to reviewers' comments clearly and make appropriate revisions within the specified period. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
The journal is committed to maintaining an objective, transparent, and ethical peer review process. Reviewers are required to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and should declare any potential conflict of interest. Reviewers should provide constructive, objective, and academically justified comments and should not use information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage.
The peer review process is conducted in accordance with the journal's publication ethics and aims to ensure that articles published in JISBIM meet appropriate academic and scholarly standards.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
