Analysis of Halal Industry Management from an Islamic Economic Perspective
The goal of the halal business, which is a processing industry founded on sharia principles, is to create products that are safe, healthy, and of high quality (thayyib) so that they can be used, consumed, or enjoyed. The halal concept is not only limited to avoiding haram ingredients, but also includes aspects of safety, quality, and compliance with procedures which include processing, handling, use of equipment, storage, packaging, transportation and distribution. Halal is not just a religious concept, but also a comprehensive quality standard. As the halal industry develops, good management is needed to maintain its sustainability and competitiveness. Apart from that, the study of Islamic law, including Islamic economics, is important in managing the halal industry, considering that industrial activities are part of the economic sector. Using data from pertinent journal articles and the book Discourse on Economic Theology and the Halal Industry, this study employs a qualitative methodology. A literature review is used as the data collection approach. The research results show that Islam encourages its followers to play an active role in various economic sectors, including agriculture, plantation management, fisheries, industry and trade.
