Kemampuan Linguistik Anak Penderita Downsyndrome (Kajian Neurolinguistik)

Abstract

Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that often occurs and its characteristics are very easy to recognize. Down syndrome is better known as the generic disorder trisomy, where there is an excess or addition of chromosome 21. This excess chromosome causes the number of certain proteins to increase, thereby inhibiting normal growth in the body and causing changes in previously arranged brain development. The difference in growth between children with Down syndrome and other normal children lies in the child's cognitive abilities. Downsyndrome children have difficulty speaking and absorbing words, so this journal examines the verbal abilities of children with Downsyndrome and how they communicate with their environment as well as the characteristics and causes of Downsyndrome.
