Abstract


The Qur'an is one of the main sources in Islam. It serves as the source and foundation of Islamic education. Musyrifah, as a teacher, is expected to play a role in enhancing the reading and writing of the Qur'an among students at Ma’had Al-Jami’ah, State Islamic University of Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary, Padang Sidimpuan. This educational institution, which is characterized by Islamic values, is also responsible for assessing the ability of its students to read the Qur'an. The research problem formulated is how the role of musyrifah contributes to improving the reading and writing of the Qur'an among students at Ma’had Al-Jami’ah. The aim of this study is to understand the role of musyrifah in enhancing the reading and writing of the Qur'an among the students. This research adopts a qualitative approach. The research instruments used include observation, interviews, and documentation. To ensure data validity, the researcher employed triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the role of musyrifah goes beyond just providing lessons or teaching. Musyrifah acts as a motivator and advisor, encouraging students to pursue knowledge, especially in learning to read and write the Qur'an. The reading and writing program for the Qur'an at Ma’had Al-Jami’ah has successfully improved the students' abilities; those who previously could not read the Qur'an have become capable, and those who were not proficient have become more skilled.
