Keterlibatan Orangtua Muslim Dalam Pendidikan Anak Pada Perguruan Tinggi Di Desa Somba Debata Kecamatan Saipar Dolok Hole Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan
Abstract
This study aims to examine the involvement of Muslim parents in their children's higher education in Somba Debata Village, Saipar Dolok Hole Subdistrict, South Tapanuli Regency. The research focuses on three main aspects: students’ responses to parental involvement, the forms of involvement carried out by parents, and parents’ perceptions of their role in their children's higher education. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that parental involvement has a significant influence on students’ learning motivation, emotional stability, and academic persistence. The forms of parental involvement include financial, emotional, and spiritual support, as well as regular communication, both directly and indirectly. Parents also participate in educational decision-making and reinforce religious values. Their perceptions indicate an awareness of the importance of guiding their children both morally and materially, despite facing various limitations. Thus, the involvement of Muslim parents in the village has been proven to contribute substantially to the academic success of students in higher education.
