Peer Review Process
Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management receives articles from researchers from outside the institution as well as internal researchers.
Both research and conceptual articles must be submitted online via OJS. The journal editor team reads the abstracts and reviews the contents of the archive which is forwarded to the reviewer using a peer-review system. The journal editor team has the right to reject the article if the article is considered inappropriate and outside the scope of the journal.

Ethics of Publication
Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management is a peer-reviewed journal, available in print and online and published two times a year. This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the chief editor, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer and the publisher (Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Universitas Islam Negeri Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan, Indonesia.
This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed JISFIM is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is, therefore, important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher and the society. Universitas Islam Negri Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan, Indonesia as publisher of JISFIM takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing seriously and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, Universitas Islam Negeri Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan and Editorial Board will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary.
Publication decisions
The editor of the JISFIM is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Fair play
An editor at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality
The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and conflicts of interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.
Duties of Editor(s)
An Editor should endeavor to be a leader in the specific field of practice underpinning journal content as it helps the journal development, presence and standing within the international community.
An editor should also familiarize themselves with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
An Editor may have to make all the decision regarding which articles to accept ot reject for publication.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
Promptness
Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.
Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
Duties of Authors
Reporting standards
Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
Originality and Plagiarism
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication
An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Fundamental errors in published works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
Plagiarism Checked
The article that can be reviewed by editor board after completing the attachment of plagiarism checker and stated that article at least 75% is origin. The article will be checked by TURNITIN.
Author Guidelines
GENERAL GUIDE
1. All manuscripts must be submitted through Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management Online Submission E-Journal Portal ( https://jurnal.uinsyahada.ac.id/index.php/JISFIM/login )
2. The author submitting a manuscript do have understanding that if the corresponding paper is accepted, then the copyright will be assigned to Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business Universitas Islam Negeri Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan as publisher of the journal. To do so, we obliged the author to submit the signed of Ethics Statement, Authorship Agreement, and Copyright Statement form (we expect author to download the document, and then scan and send it after signing to the journal email address at: jisfim@iain-padangsidimpuan.ac.id)
3. The article is original guaranteed by the writer and is not published in the other journals/proceedings.
4. The statement contribution toward the development of science and technology is from the new findings/ideas/opinions which prioritize the current primary references in the latest ten years. We expect the author to clearly give a statement of novelty within introductory section. (e.g. there are few number of research….; the novelty of this research…; etc.)
5. The article is an empirical study. The sharpness of critically analysis and synthesis is prioritized.
6. The review process is conducted in a double-blind review process with the peer group system, which is reinforced by the qualified reviewers in their field.
7. The article is written according to the rule of Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management and an editorial team reserves the right to revise the style of writing with a note that it does not change the intent and quality of the article.
8. Questionnaires and other instruments. Manuscript articles that use primary data research or experimentation must also include the surveys document as the supplementary document.
9. Authors are obliged to send the results of data processing as well as tables and the original image file via email.
10. Results of the assessment possibilities articles can be:
a. Accepted with minor revisions.
b. Received with major revisions.
c. Suggested sent to another appropriate journal.
d. Rejected.
11. The article must be under 35 % check by plagiarism software
SPECIAL GUIDE
A. The Writing Guidance
1. The article is well-written in Indonesia or English ranging from 4500 words until 6000 words. The writing of foreign language is italicized. Typed single space for the abstract. One and half space for content and references. Written by font Georgia 11pt size and indent for paragraphs are 1,5cm.
2. The paper size is A4 (210 x 297 mm), it is one column and the page setup is: top margin 1 inch; bottom margin 1 inch; left margin 1 inch and right margin 1 inch.
3. The font size for the title is Georgia 14pt, bolded and center justified.
4. After the title, it is followed by the author (without the title). It is Georgia 12pt, capitalized each word, bolded and center justified.
5. Under the author, it is the institution and address and the email at Georgia 12pt, bolded and center justified. For example: Institut Agama Islam Negeri Padangsidimpuan, rrr@iain-padangsidimpuan.ac.id
6. The font size for the sub-part in the article is Georgia 11pt, capitalized each word, bolded and left justified and with numbering.
8. Table.
All table form as an example. Table title is placed on the table with the center justified. For example:

9. Figure.
All figure is placed on the center justified and so is the source of the figure without bolded. The figure example as follows:

10. The total page minimum 15 pages, including the references and appendices (if any).
B. The Article Systematic
The article systematic includes: the title; the identity of the author (without a title); abstract; keywords; introduction (without sub-sections), method; result and discussion; conclusion; references. While discussion about literature review and previous studies included in the introduction or result and analysis.
C. The Article Format
1. Title. The title must be interesting, specific and informative, which is measured by directness in writing.
2. The author identity. It includes the author’s name (without the title), the institution, and the email.
3. Abstract. It is written in 150-275 words, in one language; English. The abstract should include the purpose of research, data/object of research, method, result or conclusion.
4. Keywords. The keywords should be written in English. Keywords should be chosen carefully and are able to reflect the concepts/variables contained in the article, with the number of three to five keywords.
5. Introduction. It is the state of arts of the research, which consists of the background of the study, the motivation of the study, the theories and the objectives of the study. It is written in the form of paragraph.
6. Method. It consists of the research design (the method, the data, the data source, the data collecting technique, the data analysis technique, the variables measurement) that written in the form of paragraph.
7. Result and discussion. It contains the results of empirical or theoretical study written by a systematic, critical analysis, and informative. The use of tables, images etc. only to support or clarify the discussion and is confined only to support substantial information, e.g, tables of statistical tests, the results of model testing etc. Discussion of results should be argumentative regarding the relevance of the results, theory, previous research and empirical facts, as well as demonstrate the novelty of the findings.
8. Conclusion. It consists of the conclusion, clarity of new findings, new theories and the possibility of the future research development. It should be in one paragraph.
9. References. The reference uses APA 7th Citation Style. The degree of sophistication of materials referred to in the span of 10 years. The references are expected to be 80% of the primary sources originated from the national and international journals. Writing citations that referenced in the script should use reference application (reference manager) such as Mendeley or Zotero.

D. Guideline for Online Submission
The author should first register as Author and/or is offered as a Reviewer through the following address: https://jurnal.uinsyahada.ac.id/index.php/JISFIM/login
The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, the Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start, a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in the online submission process:
- Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of the journal, i.e. Original Research Articles, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, the author must check-mark on the submission checklists.
- Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click the Upload button.
- Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including the marked corresponding author. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
- Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter, and Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement Form. Therefore, click on the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.
- Step 5 – Confirming the Submission: Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to At-tijaroh journal, click Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.
After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes the status of the manuscript review and editorial process.
E. Author Fee (Page Charge)
Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management is an open access journal. There is no submission fee for each article submitted in Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management. Authors should also pay some fees for the publication fee with some eligible rates. The publication fee is to cover the publication costs.
Readers can read and download any full-text articles for free of charge.
