Author Guidelines
The manuscript submitted to the Journal of Islamic Social Finance Management (JISFIM) will be considered for publication if meeting the following comprehensive ARJUNA criteria:
A. General Requirements
- Scientific Focus: The manuscript must be an original scientific work focused on management, governance, digital technology, and empirical development in Islamic social finance (zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf).
- Originality & Exclusivity: Articles must be original, research-based, unpublished elsewhere, and not under active consideration by any other journal.
- Language & Length: Manuscripts should be written in grammatical English or Indonesian, typed in Georgia font (11 pt), 1.5 line spacing, A4 paper, with an overall length of roughly 15 to 25 pages (4,000–8,000 words), adhering to the Official Manuscript Template (.DOCX).
- Title & Authorship: The title must be concise, informative, and no more than 14 words. Authors must provide full names (without academic titles), institutional affiliations, country, and active institutional/official email addresses.
- Abstract & Keywords: An English abstract of 150–250 words is mandatory, summarizing the background/aim, research methodology, key findings, and practical implications. Provide 3–5 specific keywords separated by semicolons.
B. Manuscript Structure (IMRAD)
- Introduction: Formulates the research background, empirical/theoretical problem, gap analysis with previous studies, novelty, and clear research objectives.
- Research Method: Outlines the research design, data sources (primary/secondary), population and sample, data collection instruments, and analysis techniques clearly to permit replicability.
- Results and Discussion: Presents empirical findings clearly using formatted tables and high-resolution figures, followed by a comprehensive, analytical discussion contrasting results against contemporary theoretical literature and empirical studies.
- Conclusion: Answers research objectives concisely, highlights theoretical and managerial implications for Islamic social finance, outlines study limitations, and proposes prospective future research directions.
C. References and Ethical Requirements
- References & Recency: Minimum 80% of cited literature must consist of primary sources (reputable scientific journal articles) published within the last 5 to 10 years.
- Citation Style: All citations and references must strictly adhere to the APA 7th Edition Style. Authors are strongly required to use a standardized Reference Manager such as Mendeley or Zotero.
- Similarity Threshold: All submissions are screened via Turnitin / iThenticate and must have an overall similarity index of ≤ 25%.
- Generative AI Disclosure: Any utilization of AI or AI-assisted technologies in drafting or editing must be transparently disclosed in a dedicated “Declaration of Generative AI” statement preceding References.
- Publication Fee (APC): JISFIM charges Rp 0 / $0 USD (Free of Charge) for both article submission and open-access publication.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the author confirms that the manuscript has been prepared following a double-blind peer review process, removing all author identification from the manuscript file and document properties.
