Abstract


The problem of this research is motivated by the learning method which still uses the lecture method, so that students tend to be busy themselves and tell stories to other friends during learning activities, are sleepy and bored and do not pay attention to learning properly. Even though we have used several media or models, it is still not optimal, one of which is in the science field of study. The aim of this research is to determine the results of the picture and picture type cooperative learning model to foster interest in learning, especially for class III students in science subjects. This type of research is qualitative research, data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation methods. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman analysis with a sequence of steps for data collection, data reduction, data presentation, data verification. The results of this research show that (1) students really like implementing learning using the picture and picture type cooperative model because it is more fun and not monotonous like using the lecture method where students get bored quickly and don't pay attention to the lesson properly. (2) the application of the picture and picture type cooperative learning model was successful in growing students' interest in learning science.
