Submission Standard and Guidelines

English Education: English Journal for Teaching and Learning aims to widespread language and education field. To achieve our set goals with almost standards each paper should comply with its authenticity. So, each author while submitting the paper must be adhere the following English education author guidelines.

Instruction for Authors of English Education: English Journal for Teaching and Learning

v   The article submitted by the author is the original scientific paper, has never been published, and is not being submitted for publication in other media / journals.

v   The article proposed can be result of research (field/literature), conceptual ideas, studies, application theory and criticism in language and literature. 

v   The content of article must be related to the journal. The subject  related to this journal includes English Teaching Methodology, Structure and Grammar, Speaking Skill, Listening Skill, Reading Comprehension, Writing Skill, Morphology, Semantic Pragmatic, Discourse Analysis, Syntax, Translation, Phonology, Pronunciation, Language Acquisition, Vocabulary, Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics and Literature.

v   The article must be written in English. The manuscript is written with Book Antiqua of font 11 with 1,5 spacing in one column format.

v   The article must be under 25 % check by plagiarism software.

v   The article does not contain the results of plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication of data.

v   The article must use footnote as reference of theoretical description and related findings.

 

Guidelines for Formatting Article based on Result of Research

English Education: English Journal for Teaching and Learning maintains a consistency in formatting and structure of all published papers by strictly adhering the scientific norms, standard validated for scholarly journals. This journal also should follow the institute adhering.  In order to achieve the set standards of journal individually focuses on publishing quality of each articles and research paper by thoroughly checking and ensuring the format consistency before final publication.

v   Article Title

The title should be accurate, unambiguous, specific, and complete. This is your opportunity to attract the reader’s attention. Remember that readers are the potential authors who will cite your article. Identify the main issue of the paper. Begin with the subject of the paper.

 

v   Author Name, Affiliation and Email

Author name is written without a title and professional position such as Dr, M.Pd, M.Hum, S.Pd, etc. Always give your first and last name. Affiliation includes your name of university and country. Add your email or email institution.

 

v   Abstract

Abstract should be written in Bilingual (English and Indonesian). The word “Abstract” should put in left, bold, 12 point. Abstract should contain summary of the all research (aim, methodology, result and conclusion) with maximum 200 words, justified, 11 pt Book Antiqua, and single spacing. For keywords wrote in italic and then separated using symbol (;) with consists of five (5) words.

 

v   Introduction

Introduction provides an adequate background includes problems and its significance to show the gap of the research. Begin your Introduction by clearly identifying the subject area of interest. Present at least 3 (three) recent related works from online journal to support the novelty of the research. Present also a clear theory which discussed literature and theoretical concepts behind it.

 

v   Method

The Method section describes in detail how the study was conducted. A complete description of the methods used enables the reader to evaluate the appropriateness of the research methodology. The Participants/Subject/Population and Sample used in the study should be stated. What, how, to whom the instruments used in the study should be explained. How the data was analyzed in the study should be described.

 

v   Result and Discussion

Result section, summarize the collected data and the analysis performed on those data relevant to the issue that is to follow. The Result should be clear and concise. It should be written objectively and factually, and without expressing personal opinion. It includes numbers, tables, and figures (e.g., charts and graphs). Discussion allows you to offer your interpretation and explain the meaning of your results. Emphasize any theoretical or practical consequences of the results.You must relate your work to the findings of other studies. In this case you should discuss reasons for similarities and differences between yours and others’ findings. Consider how the results of other studies may be combined with yours to derive a new or perhaps better substantiated understanding of the problem.

 

v   Conclusion

The conclusion should be linked to the title and objectives of the study. Do not make statements not adequately supported by your findings. Do not make further discussions, repeat the abstract, nor only list the results of research results. Do not use bulleted points, use paragraphed sentences instead.

 

v   References

References must be listed at the end of the paper. Do not begin them on a new page unless this is absolutely necessary. Authors should ensure that every reference in the text appears in the list of references and vice versa. References should conform to APA Style. Zotero and Mendeley application are advisable to utilize.

 

Guidelines for Formatting Article based on Conceptual Ideas/ Literature

v   Article Title

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
