At-Tijaroh: Journal of Islamic Management and Business is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes original research and scholarly discussions in the field of Islamic Management and Business. The journal focuses on Islamic Management and Business studies and contemporary developments through the publication of original research articles and other scholarly contributions.
Scope of the Journal
At-Tijaroh specializes in Islamic Management and Business studies and welcomes original research and current scholarly issues in the field. The journal also welcomes contributions from scholars working in related and interdisciplinary disciplines. The journal invites manuscripts in, but not limited to, the following areas:
Methodologies & Primary Audience
The journal accepts manuscripts employing appropriate quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method, conceptual, systematic review, bibliometric, and other scientifically rigorous research methodologies. The primary audiences of At-Tijaroh are academics, researchers, students, practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders interested in Islamic Management and Business research.
Primary Criterion for Publication: The primary criterion for publication is the significance of the contribution that a manuscript makes to the literature and practice of Islamic Management and Business. Particular consideration is given to the originality, significance, methodological rigor, analytical quality, clarity of argument, and quality of presentation.

Peer Review Process
General Information
At-Tijaroh receives a substantial number of manuscripts for consideration. Manuscripts are therefore evaluated selectively according to the journal's editorial and scholarly standards. Not every submitted manuscript is automatically sent for external peer review. The editors may reject manuscripts at the initial screening stage when they are outside the journal's scope, fail to meet basic scholarly or technical requirements, or do not demonstrate sufficient potential for publication.
Criteria for Publication
- Present sufficient and credible evidence to support its conclusions.
- Demonstrate clear originality or novelty.
- Make a meaningful contribution to the relevant field of scholarship.
- Demonstrate appropriate methodological and analytical rigor.
- Present a clear and coherent academic argument.
- Be relevant to Islamic Management and Business.
- Be suitable for interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary scholarship where appropriate.
- Meet the journal's ethical, academic, and technical requirements.
Review Process & Editorial Decisions
Each submitted manuscript is initially assessed by the editorial team for scope relevance, originality, methodology, academic quality, ethical compliance, submission completeness, similarity screening results, and compliance with the Author Guidelines. Manuscripts passing initial screening are evaluated by at least two independent peer reviewers under a Double-Blind Peer Review model.
*The editor is not required to follow a reviewer's recommendation when there are valid scholarly or editorial reasons for reaching a different decision.

At-tijaroh: Jurnal Ilmu Manajemen dan Bisnis Islam is a peer-review journal that is publish twice a year.

At-Tijaroh: Journal of Islamic Management and Business is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (biannual). The journal publishes two issues annually:

The journal may establish internal submission targets for each issue. Such targets are editorial planning dates and do not constitute a guarantee of publication in a particular issue.

At-Tijaroh: Journal of Islamic Management and Business is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and transparency, adhering to the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Fair Play and Editorial Independence: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely for their intellectual and scholarly content without regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religious belief, institutional affiliation, academic status, or political philosophy.
- Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose information to unauthorized persons. Unpublished materials must not be used for personal research without written consent.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff must disclose actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest. Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves when conflicts compromise objectivity.
- Duties of Editors: Maintain high standards of editorial integrity, familiarize with COPE guidance, ensure fair assessments, select qualified reviewers, make decisions based on scholarly merit, and maintain editorial independence.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy:
- AI Use by Authors: Authors must disclose substantive use of AI/LLM tools in manuscript preparation. AI systems cannot be listed as authors. Humans remain fully responsible for accuracy, data verification, analysis, references, and originality. AI must not be used to fabricate or manipulate research data or citations.
- AI Use by Reviewers: Reviewers must not upload manuscripts, portions of manuscripts, unpublished data, tables, figures, or reviewer reports to public AI tools or unauthorized external AI services.
- AI Use by Editors: Editors must ensure that any use of AI-assisted technologies does not compromise confidentiality, editorial independence, fairness, author rights, or publication integrity.
- Duties of Authors: Accurate reporting standards, originality, appropriate citations, avoidance of redundant or concurrent publication, proper authorship attribution (CRediT Taxonomy), no ghost/guest/gift authorship, and prompt cooperation in correcting or retracting fundamental errors.
- Publication Misconduct & Integrity: Zero tolerance for fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate/redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, data/image manipulation, and undisclosed conflicts. Handled under relevant COPE Flowcharts.
- Appeals and Complaints: Authors may appeal an editorial decision on substantive academic or procedural grounds in writing. Handled fairly, confidentially, and professionally.
- Post-Publication Discussion: Constructive scholarly communication is facilitated via Letters to the Editor and invited Author Replies.
- Correction, Retraction and Expression of Concern: Erratum and Corrigendum are issued for errors not invalidating findings. Expressions of Concern are issued during ongoing investigations. Retractions are published for serious integrity/reliability breaches following COPE Retraction Guidelines.
- Editorial Responsibility & Best Practices: Commercial considerations, advertising, reprints, or sponsorship must not improperly influence editorial decisions.
Plagiarism and Similarity Screening
Plagiarism and Similarity Screening Policy
All submitted manuscripts may undergo similarity screening using appropriate software, including Turnitin and/or iThenticate, according to the journal's available resources and procedures.
Initial Screening Guidelines:
- Overall Similarity Index: maximum 20%
- Single Source Match: maximum 3%
- Bibliographic references may be excluded from the similarity calculation where appropriate.
Editorial Assessment:
Similarity percentages are screening indicators and do not automatically constitute evidence of plagiarism. Editors assess the sources and context of detected similarities. A manuscript with substantial inappropriate similarity, plagiarism, or unattributed textual reuse may be returned for revision or rejected depending on the severity of the issue. The similarity threshold does not replace editorial judgment.

At-Tijaroh operates a No Article Processing Charge (No APC) policy. Authors are not charged for:

Manuscript submission, peer review, and publication are therefore provided free of charge to authors.
