Abstract

Economic independence of members constitutes a key objective in the development of Sharia-compliant multi-level marketing (MLM) businesses in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effects of business skills, rewards, motivation, corporate support, social networks, and trust in the Sharia system on the economic independence of HNI-HPAI members. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method and involves 153 active member respondents. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that business skills, rewards, and social networks have a positive and significant effect on the economic independence of HNI-HPAI members. In contrast, motivation, corporate support, and trust in the Sharia system do not exhibit a significant effect. These findings suggest that enhancing business skills, providing adequate rewards, and strengthening social networks are critical factors in promoting members’ economic independence in accordance with Sharia MLM principles.
