CORRECTION AND RETRACTION

Hata Poda Journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the scholarly record for all readers. Any changes to articles after publication shall be made in accordance with the principles of publication ethics and established best practices in academic publishing. The Journal recognizes the importance of preserving the reliability of published research and ensuring transparency in the correction or retraction of published articles.

1. Correction (Erratum)

A correction is issued when errors or omissions are identified in a published article that require amendment. An erratum generally addresses errors that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions of the article. The correction notice shall briefly describe the errors, provide the necessary amendments, and explain any effects on the interpretation, findings, or conclusions of the article.

The corrected article shall remain accessible on the journal's website, and a correction notice shall be published and linked to the original article. Correction notices shall be freely available to readers to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

2. Retraction

A retraction is issued when a published article is found to contain serious problems that undermine the reliability or integrity of its findings. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  • Clear evidence that the research findings are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error.

  • Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of another person's work.

  • Duplicate publication without appropriate justification, acknowledgment, or permission.

  • Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data, sources, or results.

  • Research conducted in violation of applicable ethical standards.

  • Other serious violations of publication ethics that compromise the validity or integrity of the scholarly record.

A retraction may be initiated by the authors, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, or the Publisher, as appropriate. All cases shall be evaluated carefully and fairly, with the parties concerned given an opportunity to provide relevant explanations or evidence.

The retraction notice shall clearly state the reasons for the retraction and identify the party responsible for the decision. If the authors do not unanimously agree to the retraction, this disagreement shall be indicated in the notice.

To preserve the integrity of the scholarly record, the retracted article shall normally remain accessible on the journal's website and be clearly marked as retracted. The retraction notice shall be freely available and electronically linked to the retracted article. In exceptional circumstances, such as legal requirements or serious risks associated with the content, the Journal may restrict or remove the article in accordance with applicable policies and legal obligations. Bibliographic information shall be retained whenever possible.

3. Publisher's Note

A Publisher's Note may be issued when an error introduced during the publication or production process requires clarification or correction. Such errors may affect the article's metadata, including its title, author names, affiliations, or other publication details, or may significantly impair readers' understanding of the article.

The Journal shall assess the nature and significance of the error before determining the appropriate corrective action. Where necessary, the article may be corrected and a Publisher's Note published to explain the changes. The notice shall be freely available and linked to the relevant article.

Minor typographical or formatting errors that do not affect the accuracy of the article's metadata, the interpretation of its content, or the integrity of its scholarly findings may be corrected at the discretion of the Editorial Team without a separate correction notice.

4. Procedure and Publication of Corrections

All requests for corrections or retractions shall be submitted to the Editorial Team of Hata Poda Journal and supported by relevant information or evidence. The Editorial Team shall review each request in accordance with the Journal's publication ethics policies and applicable scholarly publishing standards.

The decision to issue a correction, a retraction, or a Publisher's Note shall be based on the nature and seriousness of the identified problem and its implications for the scholarly record. All decisions shall be made transparently, fairly, and independently of commercial or personal interests.

When a correction or retraction is approved, the relevant notice shall include the article's bibliographic information, a description of the reason for the action, and a clear link to the original or corrected article. The date of the correction or retraction shall also be recorded.

Where a corrected version is published, the Journal shall maintain appropriate links between the original article, the corrected version, and the correction notice to ensure that readers can identify and understand the changes.

Hata Poda Journal reserves the right to take appropriate action to safeguard publication ethics and preserve the accuracy, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record.
