The journal publishes scholarly articles in Indonesian language education, linguistics, literature, literary education, language teaching and learning, and related interdisciplinary studies.
To ensure the quality, credibility, and scientific contribution of published articles, the journal implements a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.
The following policies govern the manuscript submission, evaluation, peer-review, and editorial decision-making processes.
1. Manuscript Submission and Initial Screening
All manuscripts submitted to Hata Poda: Jurnal Pendidikan, Bahasa, dan Sastra Indonesia must comply with the journal's Focus and Scope and Author Guidelines.
Submitted manuscripts must demonstrate scientific relevance, originality, methodological rigor, and a meaningful contribution to the development of Indonesian language education, linguistic studies, literature, or related academic disciplines.
The editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript's suitability for the journal, compliance with submission requirements, academic quality, and adherence to publication ethics.
Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for preliminary revision or rejected before entering the peer-review process.
2. Language and Originality Requirements
Manuscripts must be written in clear, accurate, and academically appropriate language in accordance with the journal's author guidelines.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the grammatical accuracy, clarity, coherence, and readability of their manuscripts.
All submissions must represent original scholarly work that has not been previously published and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal or publisher.
Authors must properly acknowledge all sources, avoid redundant publication, and comply with internationally recognized principles of research and publication ethics.
3. Double-Blind Peer-Review System
All manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial screening are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the manuscript's subject area.
Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research expertise, scholarly experience, and ability to provide objective and constructive assessments.
The journal applies a double-blind peer-review process to maintain impartiality and minimize potential bias in manuscript evaluation.
Under this system:
-
Authors' identities are concealed from reviewers.
-
Reviewers' identities are concealed from authors.
-
Review reports and manuscript information are treated as confidential.
-
Reviewers are required to disclose potential conflicts of interest before accepting review assignments.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on their originality, theoretical relevance, research methodology, quality of analysis, validity of findings, scholarly contribution, and compliance with ethical standards.
When reviewers provide substantially different assessments or when additional expertise is required, the editor may appoint a third reviewer.
4. Plagiarism Screening and Research Integrity
All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, inappropriate citation practices, and other forms of research misconduct.
The editorial team conducts similarity screening using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, to identify possible textual overlap with existing publications.
Similarity reports are evaluated contextually, considering properly cited quotations, references, standard terminology, and the nature of the detected similarities.
The journal does not regard a similarity percentage alone as definitive evidence of plagiarism. Editorial decisions are based on a comprehensive assessment of the manuscript and the relevant evidence.
Manuscripts containing confirmed plagiarism or serious ethical violations may be rejected in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.
Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts for originality and citation accuracy before submission.
