General Submission Requirements
  1. Online Submission via OJS: All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform on the official website: OJS Dirasatul Ibtidaiyah. Submissions via email will not be considered or processed for peer review. [1, 2]
  2. Originality of the Manuscript: The article must be an original work that focuses on critical studies of primary education or Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The manuscript must not be under consideration or previously published in any other scientific journal or publication. [1, 2]
  3. Plagiarism Policy: Authors bear full responsibility for the authenticity of their scientific work. The journal management will perform a similarity check on every submitted article before it is distributed to the peer review board. [1]
Language, Style, and Word Count Policy
  • Language Choice: Manuscripts may be written in standard Bahasa Indonesia or academic English. The language style must remain formal and consistent throughout the document. [1]
  • File Format: Articles must be uploaded as word processing documents using Microsoft Word with a .doc or .docx extension. [1]
  • Article Length: The ideal length of the research article ranges from 5,000 to 12,000 words, including the title, abstract, body text, tables, figures, and references. [1]
Typography and Document Layout
  • Font and Spacing: The body text should generally be formatted in Times New Roman, 12 pt, with single line spacing (1.0).
  • Paragraph Indentation: A single empty line must separate new paragraphs. All illustrations, graphics, and tables must be embedded within the main text document at their exact point of discussion (embedded in text), rather than grouped at the very end of the manuscript. [1]
Organization of the Manuscript (Sistematika Penulisan)
Authors are strongly encouraged to organize their manuscripts using the following structural headings:
  1. Title: Must be concise, descriptive, and representative of the main primary education study. It should be written in bold, center-aligned, using Title Case (capitalizing the first letter of each word). Avoid using uncommon abbreviations. [1]
  2. Author Names and Institutional Affiliations:
    • Provide the full name of all authors without any academic degrees.
    • State the official institutional affiliation explicitly: Study Program of Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan, Indonesia.
    • Include the corresponding email address of the main author (Official journal contact: dirasatulibtidaiyah@uinsyahada.ac.id). [1, 2]
  3. Abstract: Written in both Bahasa Indonesia and academic English. The abstract must be structured as a single paragraph with a length between 150 and 250 words. It must clearly highlight the main research problem, objective, methodology, key findings, and concise conclusions. [1]
  4. Keywords: Provide 3 to 7 strategic terms beneath the abstract to enhance indexation and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
  5. Introduction: Contains the background of the elementary education phenomenon under study, the research objective, its scientific significance, a critical review of relevant literature (state of the art), and a distinct gap analysis that explicitly frames the article's novelty. Avoid using sub-headings within this section. [1]
  6. Research Method: Outlines the specific research approach used (e.g., Qualitative, Quantitative, or Mixed Methods), the study subjects/data sources, data collection instruments, execution procedures, and data analysis methods to ensure the study can be accurately replicated. Avoid using sub-headings within this section.
  7. Result and Discussion: Presents the empirical findings and fieldwork data systematically, supported by clear tables or figures. The discussion must feature a deep, critical analysis that links these empirical findings back to existing pedagogical theories or contrasts them with similar previous research. [1]
  8. Conclusion: Synthesizes the core answers to the research questions alongside its theoretical and practical implications. This must be written in a short paragraph format rather than listed in numerical bullet points.
  9. References (Daftar Pustaka):
    • All listed references must be cited in the text, and vice-versa. At least 80% should originate from primary sources (scientific journals) published within the last 5 years.
    • In-text citations and the reference list must strictly comply with the APA Style 7th Edition (American Psychological Association).
    • Important Formatting Note: Footnotes are not allowed for standard citations. Footnotes should only be used in very rare cases to clarify complex technical terms. Authors are required to use reference management applications like Mendeley or Zotero.
