The editorial board of DIRASATUL IBTIDAIYAH is fully committed to ensuring that all authors exercise rigorous academic care and comply strictly with international standards for academic integrity, particularly regarding the issue of plagiarism.
Plagiarism occurs when an author adopts ideas, data, information, or verbatim words from another source without providing proper, explicit credit to the original source. Even when it happens unintentionally, plagiarism remains a severe academic violation and is entirely unacceptable in professional academic publications.
To avoid plagiarism, authors must adhere to the following strict academic standards:
- Detailed Information: When an author learns specific information (such as a name, date, place, statistical data, or other detailed research parameters) from a specific source, an official citation is required. This rule is only waived in cases of general common knowledge (e.g., historical facts that are readily available in numerous basic textbooks and common knowledge).
- Conceptual Ideas: When an author takes a concept or an idea from another author, a citation is mandatory—even if the author intends to develop that idea further. This includes ideas on how to interpret specific data, what research methodology to adopt, or what conclusions to draw. In cases where the author builds upon a previous idea, they must cite the original source first, and then clearly explain their advanced perspective in the subsequent text.
- Verbatim Copying: When an author takes direct words from another author, both a citation and quotation marks are strictly required. Whenever four or more consecutive words are identical to an existing source that the author has read, the author must use quotation marks to denote the use of another author's original words; providing just a baseline citation is no longer sufficient.
DIRASATUL IBTIDAIYAH takes scientific integrity very seriously. The editors reserve the absolute right to withdraw acceptance or retract any published paper found to violate any of the anti-plagiarism standards set out above. For further information regarding academic integrity, potential authors may contact the official editorial office via email at: dirasatulibtidaiyah@uinsyahada.ac.id.
