2.4. Paper Title

The title should be concise, precise, and reflective of the principal research problem, objectives, and scope of the article. It should identify the specific focus of the study rather than make broad or overly general claims.

For articles in economic law, the title should clearly indicate the legal issue, regulatory framework, economic activity, financial institution, business practice, or Islamic economic principle being investigated, where applicable.

The title should be written in 12 pt bold Garamond typeface and centered, with 0 pt spacing above and 12 pt spacing below.

3. Abstract and Keywords

3.1. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise and informative overview of the article. It should enable readers to understand the research problem, objectives, methods, principal findings, and contribution of the study.

The abstract must be written clearly, accurately, and specifically. Uncommon abbreviations, unnecessary citations, and vague statements should be avoided.

Each manuscript must include an abstract in Indonesian and English, approximately 200–250 words for each version.

The abstract should generally include:

  1. The research background or legal problem.

  2. The research objective.

  3. The research method and analytical approach.

  4. The principal findings.

  5. The theoretical, legal, regulatory, or practical contribution of the research.

The Indonesian and English abstracts must communicate equivalent information.

3.2. Keywords

Keywords should represent the main concepts, legal issues, and subject areas discussed in the article. They should facilitate indexing, retrieval, and discovery through academic databases.

Authors should provide three to five relevant keywords. Each keyword or phrase should be separated by a semicolon (;).

Keywords may include concepts related to economic law, Islamic economic law, financial regulation, business transactions, consumer protection, banking law, commercial law, or other relevant legal fields, depending on the manuscript's focus.

4. Introduction

The Introduction should establish the research context and explain why the topic deserves scholarly investigation.

Authors should provide an adequate background, identify the principal research problem, and critically review relevant literature. The literature review should explain the current state of knowledge, summarize relevant previous studies, and identify limitations, unresolved legal questions, regulatory inconsistencies, theoretical debates, or gaps in existing scholarship.

Authors must clearly explain how the present study differs from previous research and what original contribution it seeks to make.

For articles in economic law, Islamic economic law, and related legal disciplines, authors are encouraged to identify the relevant legal, doctrinal, theoretical, normative, empirical, or socio-legal context, as appropriate to the research question.

The discussion may address issues such as the development of economic legislation, Islamic financial institutions, contractual relationships, commercial dispute resolution, consumer protection, financial technology regulation, market governance, and the implementation of Islamic economic principles.

The Introduction should conclude with a clear statement of the research objectives and, where relevant, the research questions.

5. Research Method

The Research Method section should describe the procedures and analytical approaches used to address the research objectives.

Authors should explain the research design, data sources, data collection procedures, and methods of analysis. The theoretical or conceptual framework should also be identified where relevant.

For doctrinal or normative legal research, authors should explain the legal approach adopted, the relevant primary and secondary legal materials, and the method used to interpret and analyze those materials.

Relevant approaches may include:

  • Statutory approach.

  • Conceptual approach.

  • Case approach.

  • Comparative legal approach.

  • Historical legal approach.

  • Philosophical or doctrinal approach.

For empirical, socio-legal, or field-based research, authors should describe the research setting, participants or data sources, data collection techniques, and analytical procedures, as applicable.

Research involving Islamic economic law may employ relevant methodologies, including analysis of fiqh muamalah, Islamic jurisprudence, fatwas, Islamic financial regulations, contractual practices, and the application of Sharia principles in economic activities.

The methodological description should be sufficiently detailed to enable readers to assess the rigor, appropriateness, and credibility of the research.

6. Findings and Discussion

The Findings and Discussion section should present the principal results of the research and explain their significance in relation to the research objectives and existing scholarship.

Authors should organize their findings systematically and provide a clear analytical interpretation of the evidence.

The discussion should not merely repeat the results but should explain their meaning, implications, and relationship to relevant legal theories, statutory provisions, judicial decisions, Islamic legal principles, previous studies, or scholarly debates.

Authors are encouraged to compare their findings with those of previous researchers, explain similarities and differences, and identify the theoretical, legal, practical, or policy implications of the study.

For research concerning economic law and Islamic economic law, the discussion may address relevant legal doctrines, financial regulations, contractual principles, judicial decisions, Islamic jurisprudential perspectives, or empirical economic practices, depending on the scope and methodology of the article.

Authors should critically assess how their findings contribute to the understanding, development, interpretation, or implementation of economic law and relevant regulatory frameworks.

The discussion should demonstrate the article's original contribution and provide evidence-based arguments rather than unsupported assertions.

7. Conclusion

The Conclusion should directly answer the research objectives or questions stated in the Introduction.

It should summarize the principal findings, highlight the article's original contribution, and explain the implications of the research where appropriate.

The Conclusion should not simply repeat the abstract or reproduce the Findings and Discussion section. New evidence or arguments that have not been discussed in the main text should generally not be introduced.

Authors may include recommendations for legal practice, regulatory reform, economic policy, institutional governance, or future research when these recommendations follow logically from the findings.

8. References and Citation Style

All sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the References section. References should be arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author.

Authors should prioritize relevant and credible scholarly sources, including peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, legislation, judicial decisions, Islamic legal documents, official regulations, and other authoritative materials appropriate to the research topic.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero to maintain consistency in citation and reference formatting.
